Celebrate a great “100 Days of Summer” season with a free screening of the Academy Award-winning movie “Moneyball” on Friday, August 31. See this film starring Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill where it was filmed – at Blair Field, 4700 Deukmejian Dr., in Recreation Park. Come between 6 – 8 pm for family fun including moon bounces and face painting, before the movie starts at dusk. Bring a blanket, picnic style dinner and your family and friends. The event is sponsored by Long Beach Parks, Recreation & Marine and Signal Hill Petroleum
“100 Days of Summer” was promoted by Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine and the Long Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau to remind residents to “stay and play” in Long Beach. From Memorial Day to Labor Day residents and visitors have attended hundreds of free concerts and movies, Long Beach Sea Festival events, programs at El Dorado Nature Center, Rancho Los Cerritos and Rancho Los Alamitos historic sites, and spontaneous fun like biking, golf, tennis, kayaking, swimming, and youth and teen programs, plus more than 500 classes in the arts, sports, music and more. Watch for www.100daysofsummer.org in May next year to plan another memorable summer.
