1,000 Pairs in 10 Days; CAT’S Goal to Collect & Distribute New Socks to Long Beach’s Homeless

NO MORE COLD FEET! Will you help us reach the goal to collect and distribute 1,000 PAIRS of NEW socks for homeless men, women and youth in Long Beach by this Tues., Jan. 31? The 10-day campaign headed by Justin Rudd and his Community Action Team (CAT) is called “Sock-it-to-’em!”
Two ways to help:
- You & friends purchase and mail/drop-off socks to us. Two locations listed below.
- You & friends donate by check or Paypal, and we buy the socks.
Check payable/deliver to: Community Action Team, 5209 E. The Toledo #1, Long Beach, CA, 90803 (in Belmont Shore). You can also Paypal to Justin@JustinRudd.com. An alternate drop-off location in Bixby Knolls is Urban Cottage, 4121 Long Beach Blvd. Deadline is 6 p.m., Tues., Jan. 31.

How many pairs can you commit to donate? Black or white athletic socks preferred.
“Let’s make sure every homeless person in Long Beach has at least one pair of new, warm, dry socks this season,” said organizer Justin Rudd. As of Tues. night, Jan. 24, more than 300 pairs had already been collected. Socks will be distributed to homeless living in streets, parks, and in tents along the LA River. Socks will also be donated to homeless school kids and to the mental health “Village” in downtown Long Beach.
