Inspiration 2011- VintageCounter-Culture Event Showcases “Queen of Vintage” Kathleen Schaaf & Owner of Long Beach Meow Vintage PLUS 100+ International Exhibitors Offering One-of-a-Kind Item On Exhibit & For Sale

Art, fashion, culture and vintage enthusiasts from around the globe will gather at Long Beach, CA’s premiere historic art deco destination, The Queen Mary, for “Inspiration 2011”, on Friday and Saturday, February 11-12, 2011. The two-day show will feature over 60 international vendors and exhibitors offering unique and one-of-a-kind merchandise on exhibit and for sale—including American vintage apparel manufactured from the 1900s-1980s, vintage-inspired-to-contemporary fashions, plus artists and artisans, as well as live music.

Rin Tanaka, a Japanese journalist, photographer and publisher of the celebrated “My Freedamn” book series, will again produce and host the kulture recycling and vintage fashion event, now in its second year. The premier show, held at the Santa Monica Barker Hanger in 2010, was a SOLD-OUT smash success, with attendance at well over 3,000.

“Inspiration 2011” will feature the “Queen of Vintage”—Kathleen Schaaf—one of the top vintage dealers in the U.S. since the early ‘80s. Schaaf, a premiere purveyor and collector, is also the owner of one of the oldest vintage stores in the country, Meow, located in Long Beach’s 4th Street/“Retro Row” indie shopping district. She’ll have extensive vintage apparel and accessories for sale throughout the show.

Additionally, “Inspiration 2011” will be the launch of “Queen of Vintage Vol. 2”, Tanaka’s 13th book in his “My Freedamn” series and the second of his curated vintage collection series tomes. “Queen of Vintage: Vol. 2” will showcase 500 rare items from Schaaf’s eclectic collections—which cover men’s, women’s and kid’s fashions, but also feature an extensive amount of rare memorabilia not covered by other vintage dealers.

The event kicks off on Friday evening from 4-9pm with an exclusive event preview and 2nd annual “My Freedamn!” reunion party open to the public with music and drinks. Saturday show hours are from 10am-5pm. Tickets are available online only and are $52/2-Day; Friday-only/$40 (includes one drink ticket); Saturday/$20. Buy your tickets now as this event will sell out.
