3 Cool Places to find Ice Cream in Long Beach

share this:

If the recent heat wave isn’t reason enough to get you running to the nearest ice cream shop for relief, then how about this? July is national ice cream month. In fact, this Sunday, July 19 is national ice cream day!

Since it’s a national holiday, we’ve rounded up 3 great places to find ice cream in Long Beach. It’s not all ice cream, we’ve included a couple of ice cold alternatives as well.

Let us know what you think and if you have a favorite ice cream or frozen yogurt shop, let us know in the comments!

Frosted Cupcakery

At Frosted, they bake and prepare their cupcakes fresh every day. All those hot ovens must have inspired them to create something cool, because Frosted’s newest creations are nothing short of heaven. Ice cream cupcakes are a modern twist on the traditional ice cream and cake combo — only this time the ice cream is in the cake! The day we tried it the flavor of the day was mint and chip ice cream wrapped in chocolate cake.

Frosted is located at 4817 East 2nd Street in Belmont Shore. Call them at (562) 987-1080.

Cold Stone Creamery

From unique ice cream creations to smoothies, cakes and shakes – nobody serves up the ultimate indulgence like Cold Stone.  It starts with your choice of flavors and toppings and ends with a signature process that mixes your custom creation on a frozen granite stone.  Or try a new and exciting form of ice cream – JELL-O pudding ice cream. This line of entirely new ice cream flavors not only tastes like pudding, but also mimics the characteristics and texture that is recognized as JELL-O pudding yet in a frozen form. Cold Stone Creamery has 3 locations in Long Beach

  • 5939 Spring Street, Long Beach, CA 90808
  • The Pike: 25 Aquarium Way, Long Beach, CA 90802
  • Bixby Knolls: 4247 Atlantic Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90807

Ben & Jerry’s

Are you a fan of hot fudge, caramel or both? Ben & Jerry’s knows it can be a tough choice – but now customers don’t have to choose. It’s simple; every Monday this summer, purchase one of the company’s amazing sundaes andsecond savory sundae will be on the house.  Check out the company’s newest, values-led flavor Chocolate Macadamia, featuring FairTrade vanilla, FairTrade chocolate and sustainably-harvested macadamia nuts. Or try Elton John’s Goodbye Yellow Brickle Road, Orange & Cream or Triple Caramel Chunk. Ben & Jerry’s is located at 7559 Carson Street in Long Beach, CA 90808.

More than just Ice Cream

Even if ice cream’s not your thing — we’ll try not to judge — that doesn’t mean you have to lose out in the celebration. Try a cool gelato from Aroma Di Roma, 5327 E 2nd Street, or stop by Yogurtland, 4816 East 2nd Street, for an exotic selection of tart treats.
