On Sunday, January 31 from  11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., a group of Long Beach residents will find out if they can meet a very ambitious goal — to raise $40,000 in just 4 hours.

On their “40 in 4” event flyer the group says, “We are committed to helping those devastated by the earthquake tragedy in Haiti. 100% of ALL funds raised will go directly to the American Red Cross for the Haiti Relief Fund (American Red Cross will be on site to collect all donations).”

The 40 in 4: Haiti Relief fundraiser will be filled with great activities for the whole family. It will include hot dogs, drinks, desserts, bounce house, face painting, live music by The Elm Street Band and more.

The 4-hour fundraiser will take place in El Dorado Park, 2800 Studebaker Street, Long Beach, CA 90815 from 11:00 a.m. t0 3:00 p.m.

Donors have the choice of staying and participating in the events or they can choose to drop off their donation at the convenient “Drive Thru” donation center.

In addition, elementary and middle schools ALL over the city of Long Beach have been running a “Coin Challenge” competition.  The grade level with the highest contributions will be awarded an ice cream party for the entire grade!
