Five local skilled nursing facilities have donated a total of $43,000 to the Community Hospital Long Beach Foundation Emergency Department Challenge Campaign.

Alamitos-Belmont, Broadway by the Sea, Edgewater Skilled Nursing Center and Signal Hill’s Courtyard Care Center are donating a combined total of $33,000. All provide 5-star care for their patients. Bel Vista Healthcare Center, also a 5-star Long Beach center, has donated $10,000.

These 5-star facilities’ ratings reflect the commitment to excellence in patient care which includes the desire to provide every patient a dignified experience. Each is pleased to see Community Hospital Long Beach Emergency Department updating. MemorialCare Health System recently reported that the CHLB Emergency Department has seen an increase of 25% more patients this year…to over 30,000.

The Emergency Department Challenge Campaign to raise $1.3 million is nearing its goal and will be completed by the end of this year. The CHLB Foundation asks our loyal donors and supporters to consider making a gift to put us over the top by the end of 2015.

The completed project (scheduled for the spring of 2016) will bring us one of the most state-of-the-art Emergency Departments in our city. The resulting impact of this project will be efficient, high quality emergency care and increased service capacity for the residents of the eastside of Long Beach.
