Long Beach Fireworks Show at Veterans StadiumAttending a fireworks show, such as the annual Long Beach fireworks display hosted at Veterans Stadium, is a great way to ensure an inspiring Independence Day celebration for the entire family. While a professional fireworks show can help ensure a safe holiday, the “Safe and Sane” slogan used by some fireworks manufacturers can be a recipe for disaster.

Nearly 95% of fireworks injuries treated in hospital emergency rooms each year are attributed to fireworks that federal regulations permit people to use. Fireworks and sparklers are designed to explode or throw of showers of hot sparks, with temperatures that may exceed 1200 degrees.

Long Beach revelers are encouraged to attend stay safe this fourth of July by attending the 54th annual 4th of July Fireworks Show at Long Beach Veterans Memorial Stadium. And, for those who need even more encouragement, ticket prices for the 2011 fireworks show 50% lower than last year!

Entertainment at the event will include live music, Long Beach Fire Department clowns, a bicycle raffle, and fire demonstrations. Fireworks presentations can be seen at Veterans Stadium conducted by the Long Beach Fire Department Memorial Association, and in neighboring cities that offer fireworks shows.

According to statistics gathered by the National Fire protection Agency (NFPA), more fires are reported on Independence Day than on any other day of the year, and fireworks account for half of those fires. The Long Beach Police Department will actively enforce laws regarding the possession and use of all types of fireworks, including sparklers. This year, let the professionals handle the fireworks while you sit back and enjoy the show with your family.

Ticket for the Long Beach Fire Department Fireworks Show at Veterans Stadium are $5 for everyone ages 5 and older. Gates for the event open at 4:00 p.m. and close at 9:00 p.m. Parking costs $5 (no entry without proof of ticket). Buy your tickets for the Veterans Stadium Fireworks Show from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily until July 4th at 5:00 p.m. at Long Beach Fire Station 19, located at 3559 Clark Ave, Long Beach, CA, 90808.

The Long Beach Firemen’s Memorial Association is a non-profit organization made up of volunteer firefighters and their families. The organization supports Long Beach Search and Rescue, LBFD Kids, Boy Scouts of America, local sports teams, and special events for firefighters’ families.
