Tasha W. Hunter Named New Business District Manager of Uptown Property and Community Association

Uptown Property and Community Association has a new leader at the helm.
Tasha W. Hunter, Uptown’s new Business District Manager, will manage operations to rehabilitate properties, maintain clean and safe programs, support local businesses, and partner with North Long Beach residents on community projects.
“Tasha brings amazing energy to the Uptown Renaissance,” said Yanki Greenspan, Uptown Board President. “She understands what it takes to bring people together. She has strong experience in the wide variety of roles needed for business improvement districts.”
“I welcome and look forward to developing a strong relationship with local businesses as well as community members,” said Hunter.
Hunter, an Uptown resident, has experience managing complex projects and teams in on-going projects, large-scale event planning on projects like the 2015 Uptown Beach Streets and Leimert Park Artwalk, film and television production, project negotiation, marketing, and budgeting. She comes from previous roles working with Long Beach City College, Long Beach Unified School District, Long Beach Community Action Partnership, Light & Life West, and has additional skills in community outreach and youth mentorship.
Hunter also serves on the Arts Council for Long Beach Board of Directors and volunteers with Champions for Caring Connections Homeless Outreach program, and has previously worked with student equity programs at Long Beach City College. She has an MFA in Film and Television Producing from Chapman University, a Bachelor’s in Film and Television Production from UCLA, and an AA in Journalism from Long Beach City College.
