Every four years we celebrate leap year. Twelve families at the BirthCare Center at Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach celebrated it by welcoming a new little one to their family.

“Armando and I are so happy to have Sarah join our family,” says Ruby, maternity patient at Miller Children’s. “It is an extra special day for us since Sarah’s grandfather’s birthday also is on Leap Day. Her big brother, Jake, can’t wait to meet her when she gets home.”

In celebration of Leap Year, the care team at Miller Children’s & Women’s provided plush “leap frogs” to each family that delivered a baby today.

“We get to witness miracles every day at the BirthCare Center, but today was an extra special day for us to celebrate with our patients and their families,” says Sharilyn Kelly, executive director, BirthCare Center, Miller Children’s & Women’s.
