2016-05-03 · By Editor
Join Long Beach Heritage Saturday, May 7, 2016 for their new North Pine Walking tour.
As well as celebrating successful re-activation projects such as the Kress Lofts, Walker Lofts (the Famous Department Store buildings), York Temple Lofts, and Molina’s Press-Telegram and Meeker- Baker buildings, this tour will highlight the charm of some of our earliest extant commercial structures along the Pine Avenue corridor between 4th and 8th Streets. On- going adaptive-reuse projects such as The Long Beach Professional Building and Vault 350 will also be featured. The management of the Meeker Building and Temple Lofts have graciously given permission to enter their beautiful lobbies.
This two-hour tour is offered 4 times a year by Long Beach Heritage. A donation of $10 per person is requested. The tour begins in front of 345 Pine Avenue (Gold’s Gym), travels north to 8th Street and circles back to end at the old Press-Telegram building at 6th and Pine. The City Place Parking Garage with entrances from 4th and 6th Streets is conveniently nearby. Please visit lbheritage.org for details and to purchase tickets.
