2016-05-18 · By Editor
Long Beach Transit announces its water taxi season schedule for 2016. The AquaLink and AquaBus water taxis commence service on Saturday, May 21, 2016 and will operate a seven-day-a-week schedule through Labor Day on Monday, September 5, 2016.
AquaBus service is $1 one way and connects customers to popular downtown attractions like The Queen Mary, Hotel Maya, Aquarium of the Pacific, Pine Avenue Circle and Shoreline Village. AquaLink service is $5 one way and connects The Queen Mary and Aquarium visitors to eastside ocean-front destinations like the Belmont Pier and Alamitos Bay Landing. Water taxi customers pay exact cash fare at time of boarding. Bicycles are welcome when space is available.
“LBT water taxis are a fun way to get around along our spectacular coastline,” said Debra Johnson, LBT’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer. “They are great for a stress-free day with friends and family. You can also connect to or from our free Passport bus service that serves hotspots in the downtown area.”
LBT has completed a new AquaLink dock at Alamitos Bay Landing. The dock is Berth 3 and located adjacent to the Boathouse on the Bay outdoor patio. It’s fully ADA accessible, making every LBT water taxi dock accessible. Beverages and snacks are available for purchase on the AquaLink.
The LBT water taxi season will also extend with a late-season three-day weekend schedule from September 9 through October 30, 2016.
