AAUW Long Beach to Celebrate Accomplishments and Install New Officers

The American Association of University Women Long Beach Branch’s Installation of Officers will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Old Ranch Country Club, 3901 Lampson Avenue, Seal Beach, CA 90740. Daphne Ching-Jackson will install the 2016-2017 officers: Sharon Westafer and Cacilia Kim, Co-Presidents; Lois Ledger/Leah Sakacs, Program Co-Vice Presidents; Elsa-Karen Braden/Margaret Huebner, Membership Co-Vice-Presidents; Anne Ingalls/Valerie Little, AAUW Fund/Co-Vice Presidents; Jessica Kober, Treasurer and Farrah Farhang/Darlene Daclan, Co-Secretaries. The June meeting begins with the Social at 9 a.m., business meeting and Installation of Officers at 9:30 followed by entertainment of The Jazz Angels at 10:45 and a delicious luncheon of Morgan Chicken Salad, dessert and beverages at 11:30 a.m. The Jazz Angels is an organization of professional musicians who educate children, provides tools, encouragement, and perform live jazz with other children, accompanied by professional musicians. During outgoing president, Frances Rozner’s term, 2015-2016, the AAUW mission was advanced with engaging speakers who addressed topics which aligned to AAUW’s mission; positive membership recruitment; innovative community outreach opportunities; and was supported by a board that worked diligently to ensure budgets were met, vital programs were supported and members were engaged. New Co-Presidents, Sharon Westafer and Cacilia Kim will announce their focus and objectives, aligned to AAUW’s mission, which will guide AAUW Long Beach next year. Their leadership and professional experience will bring special insight and ideas to the branch.
