60 Sumo Wrestlers to Compete in US Sumo Open

The US Sumo Open, the largest annual sumo tournament in the world (outside of Japan), has been held in the Los Angeles area for 14 years, debuting in Long Beach at Cal State Long Beach’s Walter Pyramid in 2014. Get ready for the next powerhouse of 50 elite sumo wrestlers going head-to-head as the competition returns to Long Beach for 2015.

The US Sumo Open will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2015 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Walter Pyramid, California State University Long Beach, 1250 N. Bellflower Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90840. Doors open at noon.

In 2015,  60 elite sumo wrestlers with multiple National and World Champions are expected to compete. Four-time World Sumo Champion Byamba, who has won the gold medal for the past 8 years in a row, will return. Will he continue his incredible winning streak in 2015?

Highlights of the 15th USA Sumo Open will include:
