Stop by Boys & Girls Club for easy bike registration on Saturday
2010-03-08 · By Editor
Join Councilman Andrews and other local cyclists as they register their bikes at the 6th District Bike Registration at the Boys & Girls Club on Saturday, March 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Each year hundreds of bicycles are stolen in Long Beach. Registering your bicycle with the Long Beach Fire Department can assist the police department in recovering your bicycle and perhaps uncover other stolen bikes as well.
“A lot of our residents are not knowledgeable about the importance of registering their bikes. It really helps us recover stolen bikes all across the City”, said Andrews, who will be giving away two new youth bicycles at the event in a special drawing for those registering bicycles.
Registrants will need to provide their address and phone number in order to register a bike and the bicycle must be present. The cost for a license is $3.00 for each bicycle licensed. If available, please bring proof of purchase to make registration easier.
The Boys & Girls Club is located 1920 Lemon Avenue, Long Beach. For more information call Tonya Martin, at the Office of Councilman Dee Andrews, (562) 570-6816.
Cyclists that can not attend the 6th District Bike Registration can also get a bicycle license from any fire station in Long Beach. Licenses are issued every Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
The 6th District Bike Registration event is co-hosted by Councilman Dee Andrews, the Long Beach Fire Department and the Boys & Girls Club of Long Beach.
