The City of Long Beach and 6th District Councilman Dee Andrews is pleased to present the 6th District Budget Summit, 6:00 pm, on Tuesday, August 30th, at Veterans Park, 101 East 28th Street, Long Beach, CA.
Join Councilman Dee Andrews, City Manger Pat West, the Director of Financial Management John Gross, and your neighbors to discuss the 2012 City of Long Beach Budget. The event will include a focus on public safety.
Officials are projecting a $20.3 million general fund deficit in the next fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1st. The general fund pays for core services such as police, firefighters, libraries, parks and recreation, and sidewalk and street repair. “I encourage residents to attend this meeting to voice their concerns, to listen and to be informed”, said Councilman Andrews. “This is your city, your money, and when it comes to the budget, I want to make sure that your voices are heard”, continued Andrews.
