2014-01-23 · By Editor
On- and off-ramps connecting the 710 Freeway to eastbound Anaheim Street in Long Beach will be closed this weekend, 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, through 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, for a repaving project. Traffic will be detoured to Pacific Coast Highway ramps.
The work is part of an ongoing project to improve West Anaheim from the 710 Freeway to 9th Street at the western city limit.
The following weekend, the south half of the intersection of 9th Street and Anaheim will be closed from 6 p.m. Jan. 31 through 6 a.m. Feb. 3.
West Anaheim Street is undergoing a 14-month improvement project that started in September 2013. The City of Long Beach Harbor Department is overseeing the work to improve the street, which is the northern boundary of the harbor district. In addition to roadway resurfacing, the project includes new sidewalks, bus stops, median, access for the disabled and landscaping.
