Election Results: 7th District run-off sends Johnson to City Hall

About a quarter of the 7th District’s 25,281 registered voters turned out to vote yesterday to cast a ballot on who to send to city hall — two-term veteran Tonia Reyes Uranga or assistant city auditor James Johnson.
With 6,534 votes counted, Johnson will be headed to council chambers with the support of 52.9% of the electorate.
Johnson currently leads Uranga 3,408 to 3,034 votes, although the results could potentially change once the City Clerk receives the results of 851 provisional and vote-by-mail ballots. The final election results are expected to be certified by next week.
