The 9th District Know Your Neighbors by Bike tour kicks off on Saturday.

Council Member Steven Neal will host the 9th District’s “Know Your Neighborhood by Bike” tour on Saturday April 20 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. This tour is the third in a series of council district neighborhood tours by Bike the City’s Bike Long Beach program is hosting in the first half of the year.

Created to welcome both avid and novice bicyclists alike, the “Know Your Neighborhood by Bike Tour” was created by Bike Long Beach to be a short, easy, slow ride that is comfortable for all levels of bicyclist.

The tour will:

  • Share Bike Long Beach’s bike safety information from the “Share Our Streets” road safety information campaign, including the “12 Tips for a Safe Trip” information sheet.

The ride will begin at Houghton Park at 6301 Myrtle Avenue in Long Beach 90805. There is space for 25 residents on the tour. The tour will end back at the Houghton Park picnic area with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Bike Long Beach “Share Our Streets” multi-media road safety campaign tours will highlight to 9th District residents upcoming projects and initiatives that are happening in North Long Beach. Some of the sites include the proposed fitness park, the new fire station 12, and much more.

District 9 residents who would like to join the tour should contact Council Member Neal’s office at (562) 570-6137 or via email at district9@longbeach.gov.
