2011-05-24 · By Editor
Councilmember Steven Neal invites North Long Beach families to attend the “9th District Redistricting Town Hall” on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Ramona Park Community Center. Residents will have the opportunity to discuss the process of reshaping district boundaries and how it affects North Long Beach residents.
According to the 2010 Census data, the 9th District’s population is 55,095 and is currently 2.3% over the maximum population requirement. Join Councilmember Neal as he explains his plan to reduce the district’s population to the margin 48,794 – 53,930.
The re-drawing of boundaries will move some residents into other districts. As a result, those who are impacted by this move will have new government representatives, a change in the allocation of resources, and more. This meeting will feature presentations from Councilmember Steven Neal and Director of Government Affairs and Strategic Initiatives Tom Modica.
The “9th District Redistricting Town Hall” is Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Ramona Park Community Center 3301 E. 65th St., Long Beach, 90805.
This is an important meeting for folks to come and learn what these city-wide changes will mean for families in the 9th District and North Long Beach.
