Councilman Andrews and Others Present “A Woman’s Worth Health Awareness Seminar”

Sixth District Councilman Dee Andrews, in conjunction with St. Mary Medical Center, Oxford Healthcare, and the Susan G. Komen Foundation will be hosting the 2nd annual free health seminar for all women on Saturday, November 5, 2011, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, at the Union Bank Building, 1900 Atlantic Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90806, in the City of Long Beach.
This is the second annual healthcare event that Councilman Andrews has hosted that focuses exclusively on women’s health. “Our health is so important and sometimes we neglect it due to lack of insurance. This free seminar is designed to equip women with knowledge to help them to take care of themselves as well as their loved ones” said Dee Andrews.
The topics of discussion will be Breast Cancer (early detection, unknown facts, risk factors and much more), Mammograms (will schedule appointments on site), Being A Caregiver (caring for a loved one, and understanding emotions. There will be a question and answer session between each presentation. As a special bonus, free flu shots will be offered to the women in attendance.
