2009-06-22 · By Editor
On June 23, 2009 all twelve Long Beach Public Libraries will be closed to the public while staff complete training on the new Millennium Integrated Library System, final data migration and verification is accomplished and the project “goes live.”
After months of preparation, the library system is ready with a new look and many additional features for the public to interact with the library using new Web 2.0 technologies. The new online library catalog will feature RSS feeds, a simpler “Google” style one box search, simultaneous searching of five databases, pre-notices when library material is due and much more.
All libraries will open to the public on Wednesday, June 24, 2009.
