2013-02-06 · By Editor
Treat your loved one to a romantic evening of soulful jazz at the Terrace Theater this Saturday, February 9th, 2013, at 7PM. Performers include Angie Stone and the Three Tenors featuring Gerald Albright, Euge Groove, and Richard Elliot. This Valentine’s Day celebration is a Rainbow Promotions production.
Gerald Albright has received several GRAMMY® Nominations, sold over 1,000,000 albums in the U.S. alone and garnered notoriety within the industry for his multiple talents. His self-produced music features him on bass guitar, keyboards, flutes, drum programming, and background vocals. He is a remarkable musician that has the ability to surprise audiences with something out of the ordinary every single time he mounts a stage.
Chart topping multi-instrumentalist, Euge Groove, is one of the most sought after instrumentalists on the scene. A quadruple threat, the saxophonist, composer, producer and DJ, he has built an impressive career as a free spirit who remains true to his own artistic vision. His wide ranging musical tastes, impeccable musicianship and keen showmanship have planted him on world tours with such icons as Rock `N’ Roll Hall of Famer Tina Turner, Joe Cocker, Eros Ramazotti, Richard Marx, Tower of Power, and Huey Lewis and the News.
The reigning merchant of Soul Jazz, Richard Elliot is a distinguished smooth jazz and rhythm and blues tenor saxophonist. Drawing on the influences of legends like Grover Washington, Jr., Bob James and David Sanborn, Elliot fashions the perfect contemporary jazz sound that was inspired by the great R&B artists he grew up listening to. In 2009, his album Rock Steady debuted at #5 on the Billboard jazz album chart and remained on the list for over 40 weeks.
A singer, MC, self-taught keyboardist, and prolific songwriter, Angie Stone has been nominated for three Grammy Awards, two Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards, and four Top 10 R&B albums (with her The Art of Love & War going all the way to number one). Her work has been recorded by Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu, Raphael Saadig, Musiq and many more.
“We are once again thrilled to welcome back this annual Valentine’s Day celebration,” said Dan Spellens, Director of Theaters & Entertainment for the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center. “These featured artists display jazz at its finest,” he concluded.
