Animal Care Services Host Open House Saturday

The City of Long Beach Animal Care Services Bureau invites the community to its 2013 Open House from 12 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2013. The animal shelter is located at 7700 E. Spring Street, Long Beach, CA 90815. All residents, friends and guests are welcome to attend. No RSVP is necessary.
“The past year was a tremendous year of growth and positive change,” says George Chapjian, Director Parks Recreation and Marine, “the coming year promises to be an exciting year for building on the vision of becoming California’s safest large city for people and animals.”
The animal Live Release Rate in the City of Long Beach has steadily increased to an all time high in 2012. How did it happen and how do we continue progress in 2013?
Residents and guests will be provided with a report card on the past year as well as an overview of new programs and technologies available to residents in 2013. Refreshments, tours and comments from residents will be included. Information on animal adoption, licensing, spay and neuter programs, and other animal care information will be available.
