Calling all wordsmiths and Scrabble enthusiasts between the ages of 13 and 90+! The 6th annual Scrabble Scramble Tournament is about to take place! Don’t miss a ‘fantabulous’ evening of 50’s musical entertainment, tasty burgers & shakes, a silent auction, an opportunity drawing, and a friendly Scrabble competition! Proceeds go for a good cause! This family-oriented event is a major annual fundraiser for the non-profit Rising TIDE at Marguerite Kiefer Education Center, a successful year-round, after school, drop-in program for kids. So when you participate, your tax-deductible donations help provide academic support, mentoring, cultural enrichment, arts, sports, recreation and nutrition for several hundred inner city children and youth.

The event takes place Friday, September 12, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 607 E. Third Street, Long Beach. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for music, food and silent auction bidding. Scrabble games begin at 7:30 p.m. Childcare is available!

Registration donation is just $25 per person. Advanced registration through September 8th is encouraged. For further details, please contact Jo Sutton at (562) 424-3035 or (562) 756-0849 or ksutton@usc.edu. Please make checks out to MKEC. The National Scrabble Association does not sanction the Scrabble Scramble Tournament.
