April ArtXwalk Showcases 5 Contemporary Regional Artists

ArtExchange (ArtX) announced today the exhibition highlights for “artXwalk ” happening April 11, 2015. A monthly celebration of visual art – each Second Saturday at 3rd and Elm in Long Beach’s East Village Arts District – artXwalk is a free event, open to the public, and full of festivities.

The evening will focus on 5×10: UN-Sound Show 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM in the ArtX Main Gallery as part of 5×10: Contemporary – which showcases 50 unique works; ten works from five contemporary regional artists. Both the gallery showcase and musical show presentations are part of a curatorial program, 5×10, developed by ArtX studio artist Jorge Mujica (Jorge Mujica, 213-399-3494, StudioMujica@gmail.com)

Speaking to the new exhibition developments at ArtX, Nicolassa Galvez elaborates, “ArtX is a platform for art and artists like Jorge to develop their curatorial skills. We are proud to provide an opportunity for curators to bring fresh and relevant artwork to Long Beach”

Two exhibitions will also be on display in their respective host studios; Trade Crossing, the Collective Print Studio’s first artist collaboration Long Beach sculptor Stefan Meyer, and illuminoidal arts founder Leah C. Dixon offers new digital paintings.

Additionally, ArtX welcomes new studio artist Joy Shannon. Joy is a printmaker, mixed media painter and tattoo artist (commonly known as Triple Goddess Tattoos), as well as a recording artist with the pagan folk band “Joy Shannon and the Beauty Marks.”
