April First Fridays Brings Long Beach County Fair Back to Bixby Knolls

It’s that time of year again! First Fridays and Long Beach Fresh are working together to bring you the “2nd Annual Long Beach County Fair” on April 3! All of our seeders, feeders, eaters, and creators will be on site to provide the community with all the best Long Beach has to offer. From Heritage bacon-wrapped bison Italian sausage ON A STICK at The Factory to aquaponics in Expo Arts Center, to Karl? jamming at DRNK, to carnival games. You are sure to find something for everyone.
The main room of Expo Arts Center will feature Long Beach’s finest artists and environmental organizations for our Long Beach County Fair Expo! Organizations such as Leaf & Fin, LB Fresh, Green Prize, Growing Experience, IVA Green Team, Office of Sustainability, Environmental Services, and Spring Street Farm, just to name a few. Other special features include a tower garden display and tasty treats by Chef Paul Buchanan of Primal Alchemy.
Long Beach ePrix will debut their Formula E race car in front of Expo Arts Center!
Stop into Jammin Music for their monthly student showcase. Around 8:30 the jam session starts complete with The Conundrum, a handmade sound sculpture you have to see to believe.
The Kidz Craft Zone, cotton candy, and popcorn will be located at Oh Very Young Children’s Boutique.
Free Spirit Yoga hosts an exhibit by illustrator Christina Barragan Forshay and music by Tom Norman.
Pixie Toys hosts a special book reading of Something Amazing by author, Steve Fawley.
Toaster Music is back in the North Gallery with featured artist Michael Bermudez and Post Mortem Movement Theatre.
Salon Medusa will host carnival games. Tickets will be sold at the door and all proceeds will go to the Aveda Earth Month fundraiser.

First Fridays favorites are back such as MOVE at Ground Control, Hedgehog Swing at Historical Society of Long Beach, Laura Wiley at Wilmore Wine Bar, The Funny Valentines at The Breakfast Club of Long Beach, Lee Hansen at Goldhill Salon and Hot Club at Georgie’s Place.
Join TALB for music, activities, and discussions with community organizations such as Beach Greens.
Tuttle Camera hosts their First Fridays photo class for $15 at 6pm. This month specializes in the art of shutter speed.
FREE bike valet and tune ups in front of the Expo courtesy of Pedal Movement.
The Bixby Knolls Bridal Collective will be outside of Strut Bridal Boutique and will be raffling off a chance to win a wedding during the June First Fridays!
LB County Fair’s special musical guests include That Cover Band at 3939 Platform #2, Karl? At DRNK, Father & Suns at Coffee Bean, Robi Duganne at About U, Red River at Bella Pizza, The Star Bandits at Oh Very Young, Rock for Vets at Melinda McCoy’s, and the amazing John Dean performing at Clover.
The Boy Scouts are back roasting up s’mores near AndyLiz.
The Homeland Cultural Center will be pop locking with the help of Dubs One spinning all the best hip-hop and R&B on 3939 Platform #1.
