After a frantic Black Friday, customers are encouraged to enjoy the artisans and entrepreneurs that call Downtown Long Beach home for Small Business Saturday. A joint venture of the Downtown Long Beach Associates (DLBA) and the East Village shops, the Downtown Long Beach Small Business Saturday celebration on November 29 will feature a Makers Mart, live music, shop discounts, a photo booth, free bike valet and more. The celebration, from 11:00am to 5:00pm is part of a national campaign to Shop Small on Small Business Saturday that will promote all of Downtown Long Beach’s small business retailers.
1st Street between Linden and Elm Avenues will be closed to traffic and house local artisan booths, food, and live music while surrounding businesses offer specials on gift items. More than 30 makers and shakers will set-up along 1st Street in the East Village Arts District with great gifts for the holidays. As customers arrive, greeted by holiday decor, they will receive the Downtown Long Beach Holiday Gift Guide, which features more than 40 Downtown businesses offering their suggested gift items. The Gift Guide designed in partnership with Localism, also includes a map of Downtown allowing shoppers to easily find their favorite shops and items. An artisan gift wrapping station will also provide the finishing touches to the shopping experience.
“The DLBA is pleased to partner with the East Village businesses who in particular have taken the initiative to collaborate on this program and deliver creativity, passion and dedication to deliver a unique experience to their customers,” shared Kraig Kojian, President & CEO of the DLBA.
