Arts & Services for Disabled, Inc. Presents High Five A Collaborative Art Exhibit

Come one, come all, and see High Five! A collaborative art exhibit that opens Friday, August 10th, 2012, at the Department of Health and Human Services in Long Beach, California.

High Five will feature drawings, paintings, and photographs by artists of Arts & Services for Disabled, Inc. The exhibition will explore the creative abilities made by the hands of artists with disabilities.

This FREE event will include refreshments, music, and wheelchair accessibility. Opening reception will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm at 2525 Grand Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90815. All visitors can enjoy High Five until its closure in August 2013.

Hosted by Arts & Services for Disabled, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides therapeutic art based programming for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. ASD will ring in their 30-year anniversary on August 23, and continue their “love before learning” mission by creating a more inclusive community life for these individuals. Their 20-year partnership with The Getty Foundation allows for future generation art professionals to experience a time of specialized education through undergraduate internships. The Multicultural Curatorial Intern, Kimberlee Adina, was given the chance to curate the High Five exhibit.
