Assemblymember Bonnie Lowenthal Seeks Nominees For “30 Young Women Under 30”

Assemblymember Bonnie Lowenthal, D-Long Beach, is seeking nominations of young women inspirational leaders under the age of 30 who are making a difference in their neighborhoods, schools, places of worship, nonprofits, etc. Asm Lowenthal honors 30 of these women in a special celebratory event later in October for “Make a Difference Day.”
“This is a unique opportunity to honor an outstanding young woman who is working to improve our community,” said Lowenthal.
Catagories for nominations are: Arts, Business, Community Activism, Education, Government, Health Sciences, and Social Services. Anyone can nominate and the only requirement is that the nominee live, work, volunteer or attend school in the 70th District (Long Beach, San Pedro, Signal Hill, and Avalon).
Nominations can be sent via Asm Lowenthal’s webpage or printed out and faxed to (562) 495-2983. The deadline to receive nominations is Friday, September 6th.
Assemblymember Lowenthal is the Chair of the Assembly Transportation Committee, the Legislative Women’s Caucus, the Select Committee on Ports; and the Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Emergency Management. Ms. Lowenthal represents the 70th Assembly District, including Catalina Island, Long Beach, San Pedro, and Signal Hill.
