On Saturday, March 5, Boys and Girls Club Board Members and Community Members will once again raise money for the Healthy Lifestyle Program. Since 2011, Board Member, Dr. Grant Uba has invited fellow Board Members and the local community to walk with him to raise funds for Club programs like the Healthy Lifestyle Program that helps members focus on the skills needed to have a healthy life while learning financial literacy, substance abuse prevention techniques.
Dr. Grant and Debbie Uba, Kalon Predium, Kiara Williams and Miles Davis-Majors were honored by the Boys & Girls Club of Long Beach. On Tuesday, November 17th, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach will honor four members as part of the Youth of the Year 2015 Dinner.
In the last ten years, the Glenn McCormick Memorial Invitational Dive Meet (GMMI) has been the Southern California welcome to the new diving season every November. Over the years, divers have traveled to Long Beach from as far as Arizona, Oregon, Washington and Texas.

Jenna Sonnenberg and Jake Butler McCormick Divers Jenna Sonnenberg and Jake Butler are heading to San Antonio, Texas for USA Diving Junior West National Championships April 12-14. The two Long Beach residents both earned places at Nationals at the Region 9 Championships in Laguna Niguel in March.
Photo by Devon Adams After years of patching, wrangling, and making do, the City of Long Beach finally has to come to terms with the need to rebuild the aging Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool. Twelve years ago, the City entertained plans to demolish the pool to build a state-of-the-art facility.
