creative-colorsThe Lowell Bayside Academy PTA has invited professional authors and illustrators to lead free workshops at the school’s 4th annual “Authors and Illustrators Night.” The event will take place Friday, January 22 from 5:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Parents and children will have the opportunity to hone their creative skills together in workshops such as how to write nonfiction stories, create a comic book, develop characters and plot lines, or how to write and illustrate a joke book.

Presenters include television personality and author Kim Wayans, author Kathleen Krull and her husband, illustrator Paul Brewer.

The event is free, but registration is required by Wednesday. Lowell students can register by sending an email to authorsnight@

Lowell Bayside Academy is located at East Broadway and Monrovia Avenue.

Thank you for the mention of our Authors & Illustrators Night. The event is open to Lowell Bayside Academy students only–due to space and demand of this PTA funded evening. The Press Telegram article, on which I assume your post is sourced, was not clear about this.
We have already had more than 10 non-Lowell families call and fear others will show up and have to be turned away. We hope you can clarify this so your readers are not inconvenienced.
    Thanks much,
    Nancy Wride
