AVP will be Center Stage of 3 Volleyball Events July 24 & 25

May-Treanor, beach volleyball’s all-time winningest player who starred at Long Beach State University, will compete in the AVP NIVEA Tour Long Beach Open, presented by Malibu Rum, at Marina Green Park. The tournament, a 2010 Long Beach Festival event, will feature 16 teams of each gender competing in a two-day main draw.
The weekend also includes the 4th Annual Sinjin Collegiate Open Beach Volleyball Championship, presented by beach volleyball legend Sinjin Smith on Saturday and Sunday, and the USAV Beach High Performance Championships, Thursday through Sunday.
AVP NIVEA Tour Long Beach Open competition begins at 9 a.m. through approximately 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, with the men’s final at 1 p.m. and women’s final at 3 p.m. Sunday’s 4’s competition, featuring the return of Gabrielle Reece, includes semifinals at 9 a.m. and finals at 11 a.m.
General admission is free to the tournament, which also includes a beer garden and sponsor village. Tournament information, as well as Courtside and AVP Club tickets, is available on the AVP website. Courtside/AVP Club tickets may also be purchased on-site.
Competitors in the Sinjin Collegiate Open will play in Open Division Doubles, A Division Doubles and Coed 4’s categories. Information: (310) 913-0108.
