Dance, paint, act, play, and read at the Long Beach Public Library this summer! Programs for children, teens, and adults begin Saturday, June 13. Contact your library to sign up. Be creative, express yourself, and master the art of reading!
Be Creative @ Your Library is the summer program for elementary school youth. Planned events at the Long Beach library for children this summer include: magician Jeff Martin, Annie Banannie Balloon Show, Illusions by Allen, Lizard Wizard, game day, Long Beach Symphony, Flights of Fantasy, Puppets R Us (make your own), Craft-A-Rama!, The Red Balloon movie, build a lighthouse, colorful science (experiments), gypsy folk ensemble, and read and create storytimes. Attendance capacity at many libraries is limited.Tickets may be distributed. Late arrivals may not be admitted. Special event programs are approximately 45 minutes in length.
Express Yourself @ Your Library, the teen summer reading program at the library encourages young people to “read, think, create, and win prizes.” Teens can stop by any Long Beach Public Library from June 13 to August 7 to sign up and receive an entry card. They’ll win free books and chances at prizes for each book they read and each entry card they turn in.

The 2009 Summer Reading Program is part of the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP), a grassroots consortium of states working together to provide high-quality summer reading program materials at the lowest cost possible for public libraries.
