On Saturday, November 26, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m, over 20 businesses in Long Beach’s East 4th St. shopping district will host the Belmont Heights Shop Local Holiday Block Party. The event coincides with American Express’s Small Business Saturday®, which encourages Americans to shop at local independent businesses across the country, from neighborhood retail stores to restaurants and service businesses.

Participating businesses include Prism Boutique, Family Store, Scratch Baked Goods, Runwaytrash, twig & willow, Innov8 Hair Design, Ambiance Skin Care Salon, Inspyr Arts Studio, Growing Roots, PRIME by Shenandoah, Beehive Salon, Trendi Pawz, Sean Arthur Salon, and more.

Local residents from Long Beach and beyond are invited to get an early start on holiday shopping and support these independent business owners. In addition to Black Friday sales, specials and giveaways, the day will also feature brand and artisan pop-ups, local food vendors, music, crafts, kids’ activities and more.

“Local businesses are the backbone of this amazing city,” said Third District Councilwoman Suzie Price. “Events like Shop Local not only remind us of the importance of local business, but allow us to highlight more than two dozen local businesses in the Belmont Heights neighborhood. I am looking forward to joining the community on November 26 to see what these artists, artisans, and small business owners have to offer!”

From tarot readings at Runwaytrash to making salt-dough ornaments at Scratch Baked Goods, the day will feature free activities for the entire family. In addition, Ambiance Skin Care Salon will host a DIY bath salt bar, twig & willow will feature a “photo booth bus,” and Mer Ambruso will be making floral wreaths and more onsite at Prism Boutique. Plus, there will be food and drinks from local vendors including Pizzanista! and Fine Feathers Kombucha.

“Participating in the Shop Local Holiday Block Party is a fabulous way to introduce our businesses to local residents, whose support we truly rely upon,” said Dayna Mance, owner of Prism Boutique. “This is a wonderful opportunity for us as local business owners to get to know our customers on a one-to-one level, have fun and spread some holiday cheer.”

The Belmont Heights Shop Local Holiday Block Party on 4th St. between Roswell and Loma Aves., Long Beach, 90814 is Saturday, November 26 from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
