The Boathouse on the Bay presents the 4th annual “Big Bang on the Bay,” celebrating Independence Day early on Friday, July 3, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The “Big Bang on the Bay” has become one of Long Beach’s top annual events, drawing thousands of spectators who watch the show from all around Alamitos Bay from beaches, piers and boats of all sizes. John Morris, who created the event and has watched it grow each year said, “This is a dazzling extravaganza for our community by our community.”

Numerous companies and local residents have contributed to make this event possible. There’s the 500 Club, made up of Naples and Peninsula waterfront residents, plus major sponsors like F & M Bank, Free Conference Call and Alamitos Bay Landing. There’s also the Bronze $1,000 Club that many local residents have contributed to.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m. the evening’s events include a vintage aircraft flyover, skydivers, a sailing regatta, plus music and dancing. The 9 p.m. fireworks spectacular over Alamitos Bay is shot from a barge anchored offshore.

The Boathouse on the Bay is offering several dining and viewing packages. Prices range from $40 for Block Party Seating, Inside Seating $60 and Patio Seating $95. Included in the price is a Family Style BBQ Dinner catered by Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que.

Boathouse on the Bay is located at 190 N. Marina Drive in Alamitos Bay Landing, in Long Beach.
