2009-04-27 · By Editor
According to an email sent Monday morning, “Heads Up! We are going to postpone the May 3 “Cinco de Mayo Dance Party” until mid-summer. With the road work on Atlantic Avenue going on we will not be able to accommodate the parking needs for the event. We do not want to inconvenience anyone and want to offer only great experiences in the Expo building.<
Ticket holders can either get a refund or hold onto the tickets for the next show which will be announced soon. Let us know via email at: [email protected]
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
The Bixby Knolls Cinco de Mayo Dance Party was planned for Sunday May 3 at the Expo Building, 4321 Atlantic Avenue.
Here are the details from the original press release:
The evening’s entertainment will feature the Susie Hansen Latin Jazz Band alongside Latin and Spanish artwork on display. Helen Borgers from KKJZ will play her all-time favorite jazz tracks throughout the night while party-goers dance, eat, drink and be merry! Doors open at 5:15 pm, the music begins at 6:00 pm.
Quick on the heels of their sold out Jazz event, the Cinco de Mayo party is sure to sell out as well. Purchase presale tickets for $20, or (if you’re lucky) get them at the door for $25. Tickets may be purchased at Alsace Lorraine Bakery, 4334 Atlantic Avenue, Tuesday through Saturday, or purchased online at www.bixbyknollsinfo.com/expo.html
This event will benefit the Long Beach Shakespeare Company and the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association. The Cinco de Mayo Dance Party is made possible by the City of Long Beach Redevelopment Agency and KKJZ Jazz Radio.
