BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse: Small Bites Hit The Spot

A group of friends decided to meet on Second Street the other night for Happy Hour. Searching for something easy and convenient, we agreed on BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse. Most everyone has been to a BJ’s once or twice, and the one in Long Beach has always been slightly odd since it is just one big room, unlike the raised bar in most of the BJ’s up and down Southern California.  When we stopped in, it was a quiet night, but we noticed off the bat that there is a new addition to the menu that I wanted to share with you!

BJ’s now has Snacks & Small Bites that they have added! The prices are great, and we proceeded to order one of everything, to pass around and try out. The items are as follows: Fresh Mozzarella and Tomato Salad, Mini-Bruschetta, Chicken Fajita Quesadilla, Garlic Parmesan Kettle Style Chips, Gourmet Macaroni and Cheese and Hawaiian Shrimp Skewers. There is no set time that you have to order these items and they are all a refreshingly smaller portion! Our favorites, by far were the Quesadilla, the Mac & Cheese that comes with crumbled goldfish crackers on top and the Mini-Bruschetta that is served on delicious Focaccia bread.  The shrimp skewers  were the only thing that really didn’t go big with the group, and if I were guessing, it was because everything else was do different that the Hawaiian flavor just didn’t mix in with all of the other food.

If you are looking for an affordable, quick bite, or you don’t like ordering huge portions, BJ’s on Second Street has some fun on its menu!
