Bras to Help the Cause Collects Undergarments for Women’s Shelters

Lucy’s Boudoir, a bra & lingerie specialty shop in Bixby Knolls, and Dare to Care For The Homeless are sponsoring a bra drive for local women shelters. There will be several drop-off locations in Long Beach where new or clean, gently-used bras and new underpants will be accepted.
This is the second annual bra drive that Lucy’s Boudoir has sponsored. Michelle Jouvence, owner of Lucy’s Boudoir, started the drive to give back to women who had to leave everything behind.
“We are excited to be able to help with providing comfortable bras that fit well to women who need them the most. We will be going to the Lydia House in Long Beach to bring bras and do professional bra-fitting for the ladies there.”
“During this season of giving, we often don’t think about how many people go without adequate undergarments. So many people have brand new and nearly new bras in their drawers at home that they never wear. We are asking for people to donate these bras; we will be sure they are given to women who need them.”-Michelle Jouvence, Lucy’s Boudoir
Dare To Care For the Homeless is working with Lucy’s Boudoir to help spread the word about Bras to Help the Cause and facilitating the collection of donations. The purpose of the drive is to give a gift that every woman needs and deserves. What is underneath is just as important to these women who are starting a new path.
Donations will be accepted November 15-December 15th at Lucy’s Boudoir and other participating drop-off locations. For drop-off location information, log on to www.brastohelpthecause.com. Tax receipts are available for donations. Any monetary donations will be used to purchase new undergarments for the ladies in need.
