Buteyko Breathing Method Comes to Long Beach
2009-10-01 · By Editor
The Buteyko Method (see video below), a clinically proven method for the treatment of asthma, sleep apnoea, panic and anxiety attacks, stress, and chronic fatigue syndrome will be introduced to Long Beach in a series of workshops beginning November 2 2009.
Patrick McKeown (author of the bestselling health book “Asthma-Free Naturally”) will be visiting from his clinic in Ireland. He’ll begin his visit with a discussion and book signing at Barnes & Noble, Marina Pacifica at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 31. He will then conduct 4 workshops at the Seaport Marina Hotel, and is offering readers a number of free places.
The contact in Long Beach, Sarah Weston, attended one of Patrick’s courses last year. She volunteered to spread the word in Long Beach after a marked decrease in her asthma symptoms. Contact Sarah for more information and to book places on one the workshops.
The Buteyko Method was developed in the 1950s by Russian respiratory specialist Dr. Konstantin Buteyko, and is based on his findings that sick people over-breathe. Dr. Buteyko’s pioneering programme taught thousands the benefits of shallow breathing, through the nose. The method has already been adopted in Europe, Australasia, and the Middle East.
