California Writers Club of Long Beach to Host Free Writers Meeting Saturday

California Writers Club of Long Beach presents “What I wish I had known before my book was published” on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the Long Beach Los Altos Branch Library.
The speaker at the event is Marcia Lee Harris. Marcia, a member of the California Writers Club of Long Beach, drives around town in a 1926 Model T Roadster Pickup truck going to all her activities. Her book, Fanny Bixby Spencer: Long Beach’s Inspirational Firebrand was published in January 2013 by The History Press, and tells how Fanny — the last daughter born to Jotham Bixby, the “Father of Long Beach” — served on the Long Beach police force, and was America’s first policewoman.
Marcia is involved in the Living History Program portraying different historical figures, is a member of the Long Beach Storytellers, the Long Beach Model T Club, the Long Beach Table Tennis Club, the International Brotherhood of Magicians, the Bixby Knolls Literary Society, the Bixby Strollers, the Lifestories Club, and the American Diabetes Association.
