This week, the St. Mary’s High School “Saints” from Calgary, Alberta, Canada are coming to Long Beach to face off with St. Anthony High School’s “Saints” in the tenth rendition of their rivalry, competing in football, volleyball, and soccer.

In an international match-up that dates back to 1993, the two Catholic schools will again take the field this Friday, September 26th for Saint Bowl X. The JV football game kicks off at 4:00pm, and the Varsity game will follow at 7:00pm. The Canadian students will be attending St. Anthony High School’s “Back to School” dance that will follow the Varsity football game.

“As someone who has played and coached in games versus St. Mary’s, I am excited that we are able to continue this international experience for our student-athletes,” said Brian Walsh, Athletic Director at St. Anthony High School.

Upon St. Mary’s High School arrival this Thursday, St. Anthony High School will host a welcome rally for the Canadian students in the Jack Errion Gym. Additionally, the girls’ volleyball teams will host the Lady Saints at 3:15pm (JV) and 4:30pm (Varsity) on Thursday, September 25th, while the girls’ soccer teams scrimmage later that night at Clark Field at 7:00pm.
