Candlelight Vigil, Walk, & Remembrance Marks 10th Anniversary of 9/11

A 9/11 Candlelight vigil/remembrance walk to the World Trade Center will take place on Sunday, September 11, 2011, 10th anniversary of September 11th, from 7:00pm – 9:30pm. The event will call on Southern Californians to honor the memories of those who were lost, heal the wounds caused by terrorism and war, and gain new strength to move forward with hope as a city, region and nation.
Meet on the beach bluff at Bixby Park, (Ocean Blvd. @ Cherry Ave.) at 7 p.m. (sunset), then walk (approx. 2 miles)… the sidewalks of Ocean Blvd. to the front sidewalk of the World Trade Center in downtown Long Beach. All are welcome. Organized by Justin Rudd. Free parking in the public beachfront lot beneath the bluff between Junipero and Cherry after 6 p.m. After the ceremony at the World Trade Center, participants can take the Passport Bus from Pine Ave. back to Bixby Park.
There will be moments of silence observed to commemorate the times when each plane hit and each tower fell.
