Sixth District Councilman Dee Andrews and Walgreens invite residents to the “CHiPs for Kids” Toy Drive, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, today, December 5, at the Walgreens, 2627 Pacific Avenue, Long Beach, CA.

The drugstore chain Walgreens, located on the busy Pacific Avenue corridor, at the corner of Willow Avenue, is partnering with the California Highway Patrol and 93.1 Jack FM to support “CHiPs for Kids.” The toy drive looks to bring toys to hospitalized and disadvantaged children for the holidays. It will take place on Monday, December 5th, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, however all Walgreens are accepting toys everyday up until December 22nd. “This is a great opportunity to provide some toys and joy to some kids who are less fortunate. I am so happy to see a thriving business in the 6th District giving back”, said Councilman Dee Andrews.

Jack FM and the California Highway Patrol will be at the event encouraging the community to give. You can help by bringing a new unwrapped toy. For those that donate a new toy, Jack FM will be giving one opportunity drawing ticket for a chance to win a brand new truck. Also, Budget Truck Rental has graciously agreed to donate a truck for the event. It is our hope that we fill the truck that day.

“There are so many families in need this year and it is our extreme honor to be serving our community”, says Chad McAskill, Walgreens Store Manager.

Walgreens and its pharmacy is open 24 hours. Walgreens is the nation’s largest drugstore chain, with 6,943 stores in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
