Christian Outreach in Action (COA), the largest provider of meals and food to downtown Long Beach community members in need, is hosting its 10th Annual Harvest of Hope Fall Fundraiser Friday, Sept. 30 at Recreation Park Golf Course.
The Harvest of Hope banquet will feature a keynote presentation from author, motivational speaker and success coach Shawn Anderson, as well as silent and live auctions and entertainment from the Doug Carter Jazz Quartet. Proceeds will provide operating funds for COA’s social service and transitional housing programs.
“The need for our services continues to grow,” said Dixie Dohrmann, COA executive director. “In 2010, we provided more than 100,000 warm meals, 20,000 bags of groceries and hundreds of holiday dinners. The funds raised at Harvest of Hope make it possible for us to provide these meals, as well as our transitional housing and other services.”
Harvest of Hope tickets are $70 per person and include an autographed copy of Anderson’s book, “Extra Mile America: Stories of Inspiration, Possibility and Purpose.” For more information, call (562) 432-1440 or email firstname.lastname@example.org .
