Keep Long Beach Together! Councilmembers DeLong & Garcia Seek Your Support

California Redistricting CommissionEvery 10 years, after the federal census, California must redraw the boundaries of its Congressional, State Senate, State Assembly, and State Board of Equalization districts, to reflect the new population data. Under new laws recently passed by voters, the California Citizens Redistricting Commission is now charged with drawing the boundaries of each electoral district.

This Wednesday, April 27, 2011 the Commission will hold a hearing in Long Beach, and your voice is important to ensure that Long Beach has fair representation.

As elected officials from two different political parties, we may not always agree on every issue, but we do agree on this: Keep Long Beach Together. We are asking you to support that Long Beach representation remains in Los Angeles County and that pieces of Long Beach neighborhoods are not thrown into electoral districts in Orange County.

Log on to and submit your letter of support today.

Thanks for your support and let’s Keep Long Beach Together!
