City FY 2016 Budget Tops Agenda at Long Beach Central Project Area Council April Meeting
2015-03-30 · By Editor
The Long Beach Central Project Area Council, Inc. (LB CPAC) will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at the Peppercorner Family Restaurant.
LB CPAC members have a keen interest in the City’s budget process. The actual work of developing the budget each year begins in the spring. When the community sees the budget in July or August, it’s really too late to have effective input to the departments. It is important that the community get involved much earlier than July. At a City Council study session a few weeks ago, it appears the process for the FY 16 budget is under way. Ms. Eriksen will talk about the budgeting process and timeline. She’ll provide valuable insight as to effective ways for the community to provide input during the budget process.
Everyone in Long Beach is invited to attend. In addition to the main topic, there will be opportunities for members of the community to briefly address the group about other concerns and issues.
The Long Beach Central Project Area Council, Inc. (LB CPAC) replaces the Central Project Area Committee for Redevelopment which ceased to exist in 2012 when Redevelopment Agencies were eliminated by Governor Brown.
The LB CPAC meeting featuring Lea D. Eriksen is Thursday, April 2, 2015, at 6pm, at the Peppercorner Family Restaurant, 601 E. Broadway (at Atlantic), Long Beach, CA 90802.
All are welcome to attend the meetings and the group is actively recruiting new members. There are individual, business and community group categories of membership.
