long-beach-city-sealLong Beach City Hall will be closed on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 for the Christmas Holiday, and Tuesday, January 1, 2013, for New Year’s Day.

El Dorado Nature Center, Rancho Los Cerritos, Park offices, swimming pools and community park facilities will be closed on Dec. 25, 2012 and Jan. 1, 2013.
El Dorado Regional Park will be closed on Dec. 25, but open on Jan. 1.

Animal Care
Animal Care Services and spcaLA are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Field services are always available by calling 570.7387 (PETS).

Refuse Collection and Recycle There will be no collection on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Collection will be delayed one day for the remainder of each week, ending on Saturday.

Street Sweeping
Street Sweeping will not occur on December 25 or January 1. Street Sweeping will occur on its regular schedule after the holidays with no delays or make-ups. (There is no Street Sweeping on Mondays.)

Parking Control
Meters with holiday exemptions will not be enforced on Dec. 25 and Jan. All meters and time zones will be enforced on Monday, Dec. 24, and on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012.

All libraries will be closed on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 and Tuesday, January 1, 2013. All libraries will reopen to the public on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 and Wednesday, January 2, 2013. (All libraries are closed to the public on Mondays.)

The City’s 21st Annual Holiday “Treecycling” Tree Recycling program gives residents a chance to dispose of trees free of charge while keeping the trees out of the trash after the holidays.

From December 26, 2012 through January 12, 2013 residents can drop off trees at several locations throughout the City. Residents with City refuse service can leave their trees out where trash is normally collected by 7:00 am on Saturday, January 12, 2013.  All trees must have decorations and stands removed, and trees over 12 feet tall should be cut in half.
