Volunteer for the Clean Team, keep LB parks beautiful

partners-of-parksPartners of Parks has set Saturday, January 9, for its very first park Clean Team Day at Martin Luther King Jr. Park, from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. This kick-off event is one of many that Partners of Parks will schedule throughout Long Beach in 2010.

Participating volunteers will receive a special Partners of Parks Clean Team t-shirt as well as automatic sign-up for Disneyland’s “Give a Day, Get a Day” ticket program. Additionally, Service Learning Hours are available to students.

Martin Luther King Jr. Park is located at 1901 Lemon Avenue, Long Beach. Check in time for the Clean Team is 7:45 a.m. All cleaning supplies and refreshments will be provided.

Created in 1985, Partners of Parks is a nonprofit organization comprised of dedicated individuals who care enough to share their time, special talents, and resources to keep our parks beautiful and our recreation programs available for everyone to enjoy. Partners of Parks helps care for more than 2,000 acres of parks, open space, and athletic fields in the Long Beach by providing funding for the preservation, maintenance, and enhancement of landscapes, habitats, and wetlands, bicycle paths and walkways, playgrounds, benches and picnic areas, community recreation and after-school homework centers.
