Commander Galen Carroll To Speak at North Long Beach Community Action Group November Meeting

The North Long Beach Community Action Group (NLB CAG), as a part of its advocacy and education mission will have North Station Commander Galen Carroll as guest speaker Sunday, November 06, 2011 at the North Long Beach Police substation. Attendees will learn about the current crime statistic for North Long Beach and the current realignment that will place 40,000 inmates back into Los Angeles County. Everyone is invited to participate and ask Commander Carroll his plans for North Long Beach. This NLB CAG monthly meeting that is free to the public.
The North Long Beach Community Action Group and History Project Team is the recipient of the Neighborhoods USA 2008-2009 National Grand Prize winner. The Community Action Group and History Project received national recognition as the first neighborhood group in Long Beach to win the 2008 Neighborhood of the Year and also won first place in Social Activism. We are a 501©3 focused on advocacy, education and neighborhood improvement.
The North Long Beach Community Action Group (NLBCAG or CAG) was formed in 1994 by concerned community members in response to civil unrest in the early 1990’s.
The purpose of CAG is to improve our neighborhoods using the following strategies:
- Maintain or improve property values;
- Improve the appearance of our area through beautification;
- Unify residents, advocate community causes, unify groups and business owners; and
- Plan for the future.
