2012-11-28 · By Editor
This year, the Committee of 300 is proud to support Children Today and Pathways to Independence.
Children Today is an advocate for the needs of children in a system that typically sees homelessness as a problem only affecting adults. The goal of Children Today is simple – to increase the safety, stability and confidence of children facing homelessness and provide quality early care and education programs absolutely free of charge.
Pathways to Independence: The mission at Pathways to Independence is to foster profound and productive changes in the lives of young women in Long Beach and Orange County who have been traumatized by their family and abandoned by society. The women in the program are provided the emotional and fiscal support needed to reach their goal of graduating college, finding a job and becoming contributing members of society.
The Committee of 300 of Long Beach, Inc. Charity Fundraiser and Holiday Party is Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at L’Opera Ristorante; 101 Pine Avenue, Long Beach, CA. 90802. Complimentary appetizers will be served.
Funds will be raised by a silent auction and opportunity drawing of prizes donated by local businesses and organizations. Monetary donations of $20.00 will be accepted at the door.
The Committee of 300 is a year round, non- profit organization dedicated to the promotion and support of the Toyota Grand Prix on Long Beach and the City of Long Beach. Volunteer opportunities are available.
